LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A man has been convicted of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2013 in the Lincoln home where he was a guest of the girl’s family.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports (https://bit.ly/1SU6kCV ) that 41-year-old Donald “Donte” Ritchey was convicted Thursday of first-degree sexual assault of a child. He faces a minimum of 15 years in prison when he’s sentenced Jan. 29.

The girl, now 15, testified at trial that she sent her mom and others texts begging for help after the man who raped her fell asleep on the floor in her room.

Ritchey testified that he didn’t know what happened because he was sleepwalking or in a sort of sleepy haze from lack of sleep.
