SOMERVILLE, N.J. (AP) - A Raritan man was arrested early Saturday as he slept in his car and was charged with murdering two people whose bodies were found in a house Friday afternoon.

Ramon Cadiz was being held in the Somerset County jail in lieu of $2 million bail.

The two bodies were discovered at about 3:15 p.m. Friday by Raritan police responding to a report. One body was found in a second-floor master bedroom and the other was found on the first floor.

Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey Soriano said in a news release that after the bodies were found, an investigation led to the identification of Cadiz as a suspect.

The FBI and members of the New Brunswick and North Brunswick police departments aided in the search for Cadiz, according to Soriano. A North Brunswick police sergeant noticed his car outside an apartment complex in North Brunswick shortly before midnight.

After staking out the car until about 4 a.m., detectives arrested the 51-year-old Cadiz.

Authorities haven’t released the names of the victims, a cause of death or a motive. It wasn’t immediately known if Cadiz had retained a lawyer.
