BOSTON (AP) - More than 300 saber fencers from at least 30 countries are in Boston this weekend to compete in the Absolute Fencing Gear FIE Grand Prix Boston.

The Grand Prix is part of a nine-city series held by the Federation Internationale d-Escrime and will feature the best sabre fencers in the world. The Boston Grand Prix will be the only one held in the United Sates.

Nearly all of the world’s 2016 Olympic hopefuls are expected to attend.

The two-day tournament is being held at Harvard University’s Gordon Indoor Track in Boston. Harvard is one of the top NCAA fencing programs in the country, with several student fencers ready to compete this weekend at the Olympic-qualifying event.
