PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - South Dakota wildlife officials have finalized the 2016 bighorn sheep hunting season.

The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Commission says the season will operate under the same structure as the ongoing one. It will run from Sept. 1 through Dec. 31, and only three “ram bighorn sheep” licenses will be available.

Officials say one of the three licenses will be given out through the auction of the Midwest Chapter of the Wild Sheep Foundation.
