MONTGOMERY, Ala (AP) - An Alabama State University trustee has agreed to enter an anger management course after a physical altercation with the school’s former football coach.

The Montgomery Advertiser (https://on.mgmadv.com/OmMiVO ) reports that trustee Herbert Young on Thursday pleaded not guilty to an assault charge in Montgomery Municipal Court. The charge will be dropped after he completes the anger management course.

Young and former ASU football coach Reggie Barlow got into a dispute during a September deposition in the former coach’s lawsuit against the university claiming wrongful termination.

The disagreement turned physical.

Barlow claimed that Young grabbed his around the throat. Young claimed that the Barlow punched him.

The court dropped an assault charge that Young filed against Barlow.
