FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - A winter storm sweeping across parts of the Southwest has dropped several inches of snow in Flagstaff, Arizona, and has moved into New Mexico.

National Weather Service meteorolgist Chuck Jones says the storm was centered over western New Mexico late Saturday afternoon, and was expected to gain strength overnight.

The Arizona Daily Sun in Flagstaff reports the city received about 3 inches of snow by noon Saturday.

In New Mexico, winter weather advisories have been issued from Gallup to Tucumcari. Up to an inch of snow could fall in Albuquerque overnight.

A winter storm warning is in place for the northeast corner of New Mexico that includes Taos and Raton.

Another storm is expected to hit parts of Arizona and New Mexico on Monday.
