FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Three people were found dead inside a mobile home destroyed by a fire in northeast Florida.

The fire in Fernandina Beach started early Sunday.

Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper tells The Florida Times-Union (https://bit.ly/1RiN0l8 ) that county firefighters discovered the bodies while searching the home after extinguishing the blaze.

Leeper says the bodies have been taken to the medical examiner’s office in Jacksonville for autopsies and to be identified.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office also is investigating the fire.
