TRINIDAD, Colo. (AP) - A Las Animas County sheriff’s deputy has resigned after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence while off-duty and failing to notify police of an accident.

Juan Trancoso is accused of ramming several vehicles and breaking the window of a Trinidad home while intoxicated on Dec. 2.

A woman told police Trancoso refused after he was asked to leave and broke a window.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports (https://tinyurl.com/goq4h95 ) Transcoso left in a pickup truck. Police say he hit two vehicles, causing significant damage. He was treated for a facial wound.

Trancoso could not be located for comment and no attorney was listed in court records.
