RACINE, Wis. (AP) - The Racine Fire Department says a firefighter was hurt while battling a fire at a duplex over the weekend.

Crews were sent to the two-family residence at 7 p.m. Saturday after getting several 911 calls about flames and smoke coming from the home.

Firefighters quickly put out the blaze on the outside of the residence before going into the two units. No one was home at the time of the fire.

The Journal Times of Racine (https://bit.ly/1jX4qpc) reports fire officials did not say how the firefighter was hurt. The firefighter suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from a hospital.

The American Red Cross will be helping the displaced residence through the holidays.
