RENO, Nev. (AP) - A wet and windy storm brought snow to the mountains and a rainy mix of flurries to the Reno area, but no significant accumulation in the city.

National Weather Service meteorologist Tony Fuentes says snow showers were expected to continue Sunday night in the mountains and Lake Tahoe area.

Fuentes says areas in Mono County in California and Mineral County in Nevada are most likely to get snow.

A winter weather advisory was posted until 4 a.m. Monday in the region, with up to 3 inches of snow possible in the valleys and 2 to 5 inches at elevations above 5,000 feet.

Winds were expected to top 20 mph, gusting to 45 mph in the evening, with temperatures in the Reno area expected to drop to the low 20s.
