ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - A felony suspect and a driver have been killed in a car crash after fleeing police in Arlington.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports (https://bit.ly/1P1V2gR ) that the 40-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the 32-year-old woman with the outstanding felony warrant died in a hospital. Their identities haven’t been released.

The suspect entered the vehicle, which sped away, around 9:30 p.m. Friday from a north Arlington apartment complex, where officers were trying to find the suspect. She was wanted for aggravated assault on a peace officer.

The car was traveling at high speed when the driver crossed into an oncoming lane, hit a curb and a wooden fence, and then crashed into a tree in north Arlington.

Police say officers weren’t pursing the car because they lost sight of it quickly.
