KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say eight more inmates have been indicted on charges stemming from the riots at a private prison in Kingman in early July. That brings the total number of inmates who will face charges to 19.

The Kingman Daily Miner reports (https://bit.ly/1lIPVH9 ) that Mohave County Grand Jury indicted additional inmates from the prison’s Hualapai Unit. Eleven inmates from the prison’s Cerbat Unit were indicted in October.

Mohave County Chief Deputy Attorney Jace Zack told the Miner in October that only inmates who could be identified from surveillance video will be prosecuted. He says he doesn’t believe additional inmates will be indicted.

The felony charges include participating in a riot, destruction of a public jail and criminal damage. Officials say six of the men each caused more than $10,000 in damage.
