DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal weekend shooting in Dothan.

Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish tells The Dothan Eagle ( ) that investigators arrested 30-year-old Andrea D. Flagg. He is charged with felony murder in the shooting death of 33-year-old James Lee Gillard.

The shooting happened around 11 a.m. Saturday. Parrish says an altercation occurred and the victim was shot twice in the back at close range. Parrish says investigators believe the shooting was probably drug related.

Parrish says a patrol officer spotted the suspect walking down a street Sunday morning and took him into custody.

Flagg was transferred to the Houston County Jail. It isn’t immediately clear if he has an attorney.
