YARDLEY, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a man died after he was hit by a train in suburban Philadelphia.

Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority spokesman Andrew Busch says the train was headed toward Philadelphia Sunday morning when it hit the man in Lower Makefield Township. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities didn’t immediately identify the victim, but say he’s in his 30s or 40s. Busch says the engineer saw the man and applied his brakes but couldn’t stop in time.

Busch says there’s no indication of foul play and authorities are investigating whether it was an accident or intentional.

Service was suspended on the track for about an hour during the investigation.
