WEST ISLIP, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a woman was high on drugs and texting behind the wheel when she hit a police car and another vehicle on Long Island.

Newsday reports ( ) the crash happened Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in West Islip.

Suffolk County police say the woman hit the police car, then another car and went through a fence into a vacant structure.

The officer was treated for minor injuries. The driver of the other car wasn’t hurt.

Authorities say the woman who caused the crash was charged with driving while impaired by drugs. She wasn’t hurt.

Investigators didn’t immediately identify her.
