ASHLAND, Ore. (AP) - Southern Oregon University has canceled classes at its Ashland and Medford campuses because of the weather.

Nearly 10 inches of snow fell in parts of Ashland on Sunday and 4-to-7 inches were reported in various spots around Medford.

The storm caused car accidents, highway closures and downed power lines.

SOU spokesman Ryan Brown says all university buildings and offices are closed, and only the employees who must go to work are those providing essential services.
