BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - The University at Buffalo is testing a new treatment for concussions.

It involves exercising during recovery, rather than resting until the symptoms go away.

UB is recruiting 13- to 17-year-olds who’ve recently had a concussion for the trial, focusing on adolescents because researchers say they are most vulnerable for concussions and take the longest time to recover.

Researchers say they’ve found that activity helps to speed recovery but too much activity prevents it. They hope to determine how much and what kind of activity is best.
