GREENWOOD, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a 51-year-old worker has been killed after a pressurized hose broke loose at the Colgate-Palmolive plant in Greenwood.

Greenwood County Coroner Sonny Cox told media outlets that Billy Alexander of Aiken died after an aluminum pipe hit him in the upper body around 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Cox says he ruled the death an accident after an autopsy Sunday.

Cox says paramedics performed CPR on Alexander, but he died at the hospital not long after he was struck.
