ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage police have identified the man who was crushed to death by a piece of heavy equipment.

Police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro says in a Tuesday email to The Associated Press that the victim has been identified as 57-year-old Thomas Heit.

Heit died in the early Monday afternoon accident at Construction Machinery Industrial in Anchorage.

Castro says police don’t have additional information to release, and the Occupational and Health Administration will investigate.

The equipment rental firm’s chief executive officer and president, Ken Gerondale (JER’-on-dale), declined comment when reached by the AP on Tuesday.
