HOUSTON (AP) - A fire-damaged ship remains docked as officials seek the cause of a blaze that led to part of the Houston Ship Channel closing for several hours.

The U.S. Coast Guard said Tuesday that damage assessment continues for the Navigator Europa at a port in Houston.

The fire broke out Monday morning in a compressor area as the liquid gas-hauling tank ship was transferring ethylene.

Nobody was hurt in the fire that led to closure of a 2-mile stretch of the Houston Ship Channel. The waterway fully reopened to traffic Monday afternoon.

The 50-mile ship channel connects the Gulf of Mexico to the Port of Houston.
