ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (AP) - A northeast Florida man has been convicted in a deadly love triangle.

The Florida Times-Union ( ) reports that a St. Johns County jury found 27-year-old Justin Adam Boyles guilty Tuesday of second-degree murder and kidnapping. He had been facing a first-degree murder charge. Sentencing is set for Feb. 4.

The remains of 53-year-old Edward Scott Mullener were found in a burned-out Cadillac on a logging road in June 2013.

Authorities say Boyles and Mullener had both been involved with the same woman. The two men got into a fight after Mullener refused to leave the woman’s home, and the woman called Boyles.

Prosecutors say Boyles and his roommate, 40-year-old Charles Massey, later killed Mullener. Massey previously pleaded guilty to second-degree murder as part of a deal with prosecutors.
