NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) - A North Platte man and woman have been charged with possessing and distributing child pornography after investigators say they used social media to send sexually explicit images of children.

North Platte Police Lt. Steve Reeves tells radio station KNEN (https://bit.ly/1TNzkwq ) that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was alerted after someone tried to transfer images via a social media account. Police say an investigation led to the arrest Friday of William Jones and Rayanne Paulman.

Officials say cellphones, computers and other electronics seized from the pair’s home turned up child pornography. Each is being held in the Lincoln County jail on $20,000 bail.

Jones’ attorney, Bob Lindemeier, said Tuesday he had not had a chance to meet with his client and couldn’t comment. Paulman’s attorney couldn’t be reached.
