WOODSTOCK, Ga. (AP) - A Cherokee County sheriff’s official says police have issued an arrest warrant for the mother of a deceased 24-day-old girl.

Sheriff’s Lt. Jay Baker says in a statement that 24-year-old Alyssa Kincaid is wanted for cruelty to children in connection with the death of Ciara Campbell. Baker says the woman was last seen on Sunday at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and asks anyone with information to contact police.

Police have said deputies responded to a call about an unresponsive child Thursday night. The injured baby died Sunday after being removed from life support.

Police previously arrested 26-year-old Nicholas Campbell. He faces four counts each of child cruelty, aggravated assault and aggravated battery in the newborn’s death.
