BUFFALO, Iowa (AP) - Police say one person is dead following a workplace accident at an eastern Iowa cement company.

The Quad-City Times reports ( ) that the accident happened just before 3 p.m. Tuesday at Continental Cement Co. in Buffalo.

Buffalo police and rescue crews were called to the business by someone reporting that a man had suffered head trauma after being struck by a boom on a tow truck.

Officials say the man seemed to be in stable condition at the scene and was taken to a local hospital. Police say the victim later died at the hospital from his injuries.

The victim’s name is not yet being released pending notification of his family.
