VENETA, Ore. (AP) - Lane County authorities are investigating a pair of armed home invasions that left the intruder and another man dead and a woman critically injured.

The Register-Guard reports (https://goo.gl/LFsEZG ) that a third man was also injured Tuesday, but the extent of his injuries was not immediately known.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that 59-year-old Wesley Dale Moss died of multiple gunshot wounds.

The sheriff’s office says 32-year-old Nathan Lee Sunderland fired shots as he tried to force his way inside a Veneta home Tuesday morning. Authorities say Sunderland then went next door, fatally shot Moss, critically injured 53-year-old Debra Ann Aleckson and then killed himself.

Sheriff’s Capt. Spence Slater said in a statement the relationship between the people involved is still being determined, but Sunderland may have previously worked for Moss and Aleckson.
