NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a 76-year-old woman was killed when she fell in front of a vehicle in Queens.

Police say Giovanna Livolsi, of Queens, was crossing at a light at 75thg Street Wednesday when she tripped and fell just as the light turned green.

Police say Livolsi was struck and run over by a vehicle that had been waiting at the light.

Police say the driver continued a short distance before being alerted to the accident and returned to the scene and called 911.

The woman was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
