LOS ANGELES (AP) - A jury has recommended the death penalty for a man who gunned down four people outside a Los Angeles boardinghouse.

Tuesday’s recommendation came from the same panel that convicted 34-year-old Ka Pasasouk of first-degree murder last month.

Prosecutors say he killed 49-year-old Teofilo Navales, 34-year-old Robert Calabia, 24-year-old Amanda Ghossein and 26-year-old Jennifer Kim outside a Northridge boardinghouse in December 2012.

Prosecutors say the crime began as a drug- and alcohol-fueled robbery and the killings continued to silence witnesses.
