MALDEN, Mass. (AP) - Police say a mother and her baby were among five people that were trapped underneath a temporary construction wall after it collapsed on a sidewalk in suburban Boston.

The incident happened Tuesday in front of a Japanese restaurant on Pleasant Street in Malden.

Capt. Glenn Cronin says it appears that the construction barrier was blown over by the wind.

The mother was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The baby was not injured, but was also taken to the hospital as a precaution. Witnesses told police that the frame of the baby’s stroller protected the infant from injury.

Dozens of witnesses helped lift the wall off the victims.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is assisting local officials with the investigation.
