CENTRAL CITY, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a woman was found dead after a fire in a western Pennsylvania home.

State police in Somerset County said the blaze was reported in a Shade Township home just after 4 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said a man was able to get out through a second-floor window and seek help from a neighbor.

Police said fire department personnel later found the body of 56-year-old Helen Kalanish of Hooversville in the debris.

The county coroner’s office ruled the death accidental due to smoke inhalation.

Police said the origin of the fire could not be determined due to the extent of the damage.
