TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - A man convicted in the death of his uncle and a friend has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Multiple media outlets report Alexius Foster was sentenced Thursday by Tuscaloosa County Circuit Court Judge John England.

Foster was convicted in November of capital murder in the deaths of 57-year-old George Foster and 30-year-old Antonio Williams.

Authorities have said Foster was stabbed to death and robbery was likely the motive. Investigators have said Antonio Williams was fatally shot after the death of Foster’s uncle.

Prosecutors have said they believe Foster targeted Williams because he thought Williams spoke with police about the case.

Foster had faced the death penalty.
