FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - A woman has pleaded guilty to having a role in the 2014 Christmas Eve slaying of a woman along a highway near Frederick.

Frederick County State’s Attorney Charlie Smith says 20-year-old Neajee (nee-ah-ZHAY’) Terry of Hagerstown pleaded guilty Wednesday to conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 20-year-old Malicia Smith of Hagerstown. Smith’s body was found along U.S. 40 a few miles west of Frederick on Dec. 24.

Terry and Curtis Evans were both charged with first- and second-degree murder, among other charges in connection with Smith’s death. Both Terry and Evans accused the other of firing the fatal shots.

As part of her plea agreement, Smith says Terry will testify in court against Evans, who has a trial date set for March.
