LOWELL, Mass. (AP) - A married couple of pastors from a northeast Massachusetts church have both been convicted in connection with the decade-long rape and abuse of a child.

The Boston Globe reports (https://bit.ly/1Pa89fW ) 35-year-old Oscar Sanchez was found guilty Tuesday of child rape, indecent assault and battery and reckless endangerment of a child in Lowell Superior Court.

Sanchez’s wife, 42-year-old Luisa Osorio-Sanchez, was similarly found guilty of assault and battery and reckless endangerment of a child.

Prosecutors say Sanchez abused the victim from 2003 to 2010 while he claimed he was praying with her in her room.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan says Osorio-Sanchez knew of the sexual assaults and physically abused the victim.

The church where the defendants were pastors wasn’t identified.
