CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a woman is facing charges after she left her children in a running SUV that was stolen from a southern New Jersey liquor store parking lot.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office says 32-year-old Kyna Garnett was charged Wednesday with abuse and neglect.

Authorities say the Lawnside woman’s 8-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter were left in the SUV as she went inside Colombo Liquors. Prosecutors say 38-year-old Christopher Dumas jumped in the vehicle and drove off. He collided with another car and flipped the SUV on a lawn.

The Paulsboro man is charged with kidnapping and related offenses.

Dumas, the children and the driver of the other vehicle were treated for minor injuries.

It’s unclear if the defendants have attorneys who could comment on the charges.
