RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina State sophomore wing Cody Martin has a sprained left ankle that has him uncertain to play Saturday at Missouri.

Martin was injured when he was fouled after making a critical steal in the final seconds of Wednesday’s 76-73 win against High Point. Afterward, coach Mark Gottfried wasn’t sure about the severity of the injury, saying he “rolled his ankle pretty good.”

Team spokesman Josh Rattray said Thursday that Martin missed practice and was considered day to day, though he hasn’t been ruled out for Saturday’s game.

Martin’s injury could make things even tougher for an already short-handed roster. N.C. State entered the High Point game with eight healthy recruited scholarship players, while Gottfried has played a seven-man rotation.
