HYDE PARK, N.Y. (AP) - State police have released surveillance video from a Hudson Valley convenience store that shows the owner throwing a shoe at a shotgun-wielding man before pushing the would-be robber out the door.

Troopers say a man wearing a mask walked into the Amrik Singh’s gas station in Hyde Park around 8 p.m., pointed a shotgun across the counter at him and demanded money from the cash register.

Surveillance video from inside the store shows Singh grabbing at the man when he reaches for the cash drawer. Singh then throws a shoe at the man before rushing from behind the counter and shoving him out the door.

An outside camera shows Singh chasing the man into the parking lot, where the gunman got into a vehicle and fled the scene. He remains at large Friday.
