LOCKPORT, N.Y. (AP) - Mother Nature must be a “Star Wars” fan: a western New York drive-in theater that’s typically closed this time of year is planning to show the “The Force Awakens” thanks to the warmer-than-usual weather.

Rick Cohen, owner of the Transit Drive-in Theatre in Lockport, tells Time-Warner Cable News in Buffalo (https://bit.ly/1YkN2xn ) that he’ll be showing the film on all four of his screens this weekend, starting with two showings Thursday night.

Cohen’s family has run the drive-in since the late 1950s. He says since his season usually wraps up around Thanksgiving, he was sure his business would miss out on the opening of the latest Star Wars move.

But this December has been one of the warmest on record in the Buffalo area, with no snow in the forecast until Friday.
