PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say one person was injured in a shooting that occurred as a security guard checked out what turned out to be a domestic dispute in a parking lot.

Sgt. Trent Crump says shots were fired Thursday morning after the security guard confronted people involved in the domestic dispute.

According to Crump, shots were fired at the security guard and the security guard then fired at a person Crump describes as “the suspect” as that person drove off.

Crump says police found vehicle was found at another location and then found the driver following a search.

According to Crump, the driver has been released from a hospital following treatment for a minor apparent gunshot wound.

He says investigators continue to question those involved.
