MASSENA, N.Y. (AP) - New York State Police are asking the public for help with information about a motor vehicle accident that left the wife of a U.S. Border Patrol agent dead earlier this month.

Troopers say Thursday they’re asking anyone who was in the area of Route 37 and Taylor Road in Massena between 10:15 and 10:45 p.m. on Dec. 4 to contact them if they haven’t already been interviewed by investigators.

State police say 33-year-old Ashley McDonald of Lyon Mountain was struck and killed on Route 37 around 10:30 p.m. On Monday, troopers charged her husband, 34-year-old Bryan McDonald, with assault. He’s accused of punching a couple who stopped to assist his wife.

The woman whose vehicle hit Ashley McDonald hasn’t been charged.

Border Patrol officials say Bryan McDonald has been placed on leave.
