PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - In 2007, an 11-year-old Keizer girl left a note for her parents that she had run away with her 19-year-old boyfriend.

The girl was found in Mexico five months later and returned home to be reunited with her parents. The man, however, evaded capture for years. When finally caught, the Mexican citizen spent two years fighting his extradition back to the United States.

On Thursday, the Keizer Police Department announced that the 28-year-old man is back in Oregon and in custody. He was booked into the Marion County Jail on charges of rape, custodial interference and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. He is being held without bail.
