COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The impact that industrial robots may have on jobs in the future is being discussed at a University of South Carolina Business School conference.

Author Martin Ford is discussing his new book, “Rise of the Robots: Technology and the Threat of a Jobless Future,” at Thursday’s conference in Columbia.

Other speakers include Jay Bryson, a global economist for Wells Fargo Securities in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Rick Kaglic, a senior regional economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Virginia.

The conference will also include remarks from Darla Moore School Dean Peter Brews, who plans to discuss how business education must adjust to a future dominated by technology and automated work.
