BARTON, Vt. (AP) - Vermont state police responded, once again, to reports of pigs running around on Interstate 91 in Barton.

Authorities say they spoke with swine owner John Groff about the incident and consequences if what they termed an “ongoing issue” occurred again.

Police gave no specifics about the consequences of violating Vermont Title 20 provisions. Those provisions call for a fine of up to $10 for anyone who lets livestock run at large on a public highway without the consent of the board of selectmen.

Barton selectman Robert Croteau responded with the police to the call that came in just before 11:30 Thursday morning.

Police say no people or pigs were injured.
