NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - A Newport News gang member has pleaded guilty to participating in a racketeering conspiracy.

Twenty-four-year-old Justin Brown entered the plea Wednesday in federal court in Norfolk.

According to a statement of facts filed with his plea agreement, Brown admitted he was a member of the Black P-Stones in Newport News.

Federal prosecutors say the gang was involved in murders, robberies, illegal drug trafficking and other crimes.

Brown faces up to life in prison. Sentencing is set for March 24.
