FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - The Arizona Snowbowl is opening its first chairlift in three decades.

The Flagstaff area resort is launching the Humphreys Peak chairlift Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony shortly before noon.

The lift can seat up to four people per seat and spans a half-mile.

Season pass holders will have unlimited access to the new lift, which serves intermediate trails.

It was added as part of a $2 million renovation project, which also included five new snow-making machines.

Snowbowl officials say the resort has received 31 inches of snow in the past week.
