PITTSBURGH (AP) - A Pittsburgh transit bus driver and three passengers have been hurt after the bus was hit by a car whose driver is accused of being under the influence of alcohol.

Port Authority of Allegheny County spokesman Adam Brandolph says the crash happened about 9 a.m. Friday downtown. The driver of a sedan crossed into a bus lane and hit the transit vehicle head-on.

The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, but other details weren’t immediately available.

The bus driver was taken to Allegheny General Hospital while the three passengers were taken to UPMC Mercy.

Police have identified the driver of the car as 41-year-old Peter Steberger.

He’s charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Online court documents don’t list an attorney for Steberger.
