CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A Casper woman accused of hiring a hit man to kill her ex-husband has pleaded guilty to solicitation to commit aggravated kidnapping.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://goo.gl/oW7wNM ) Cynthia Guy struck a deal with prosecutors and entered her plea Friday. She was initially charged with solicitation of first-degree murder.

Guy, who was a therapist at Central Wyoming Counseling Center, was arrested in May 2014. She had asked a patient, who she believed to have gang affiliations, to arrange for the murder of her ex-husband. The patient went to the authorities, thwarting the plan.

Prosecutors say Guy agreed to pay $4,000 for the hit and told an undercover agent how to enter her ex-husband’s Cheyenne home.

Guy’s defense suggested she was mentally unstable and thought her husband would hire someone to kill her.
