FLORENCE, Ky. (AP) - A grand jury has indicted a 22-year-old woman who hit a family walking along a northern Kentucky roadside, killing twin toddlers and their grandfather.

The Kentucky Enquirer (https://cin.ci/1RtdsbZ) reported on Wednesday that Jessica Hood had been charged with three counts of manslaughter and two counts of assault in the March 15 crash in Florence. Killed were 52-year-old Charles Napier and 13-month-old Samantha and Sean May. Two other members of the family were injured when they were hit as they walked home from a pizza place.

Boone County Commonwealth’s Attorney Linda Tally Smith said investigators determined that Hood wasn’t paying attention when the vehicle she was driving left the roadway.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether Hood has an attorney.
