CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A former postal worker has admitted her role in thefts from a U.S. Post Office in Monongalia County.

U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II says 29-year-old Ceressa B. Patterson of Fairview pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court in Clarksburg to one count of misappropriation of postal funds.

Prosecutors say Patterson embezzled nearly $2,000 in proceeds from the sale of money orders and stamps at the Pentress Post Office.

She faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
