MESA, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a Mesa woman is facing charges after allegedly assaulting a teenage boy she found in bed with her daughter.

Court paperwork released Friday shows 36-year-old Jeanette Salas Woods was released on her own recognizance after her initial court appearance. She doesn’t have an attorney yet.

Mesa police say Woods was arrested last week on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and unlawful means of transporting a car.

Police say Woods allegedly punched the 16-year-old boy, chased him from her home and then damaged his car with a baseball bat on Thanksgiving morning.

A police report shows the vehicle was later found with about $5,300 worth of damage.

Woods told police that she drove the damaged car down the street so it wouldn’t be seen in front of her house.
