NEW YORK (AP) - Police Commissioner William Bratton says two officers have been suspended for a month over a prisoner escape.

The escape Thursday night was the fifth in the city since June. Bratton said Friday that it won’t be tolerated.

The handcuffed prisoner kicked open the back door of a police cruiser and got away around 7:40 p.m. Thursday in lower Manhattan.

Police say he was found in Brooklyn around 1:30 a.m. Friday. He was no longer wearing the handcuffs.

The search caused temporary subway service disruptions.
