MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Department of Labor says the state’s unemployment rate held steady in November at 3.7 percent.

Unemployment in Vermont’s 17 labor markets ranged from a low of 2.7 percent in the Burlington area to a high of 5.3 percent in Derby.

Labor Commissioner Annie Noonan says overall, there are a significant number of job opportunities across nearly all employment sectors in the state. She said the Labor Department is working with training and education providers to help develop more short-term training programs designed to match the job-skills needed for current and predicted vacancies.
